Rest in peace Stoner

Remembering Colin 'Stoner' Bentley

Sad news, so soon after the Doctors' reunion show at QEH.

On 15th November 2014 Richard announced on Facebook:

"RIP Stoner. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

"So glad we did one last show together last month. You really were the best, and your contribution to The Doctors was immeasurable and defined our sound.

"Good night, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

"The Rest Is Silence."

During a recent interview for Vive Le Rock magazine, Richard shared some memories of his friendship with Stoner and the early days of their musical partnership, readable here.

Lauren Bentley has very kindly been in touch to share some words in memory of her father, which can be viewed here, and for which many thanks.

Urban Blitz has recently been in touch with some words on Stoner here

As I never quite got organised enough to interview Colin. I'm hoping to redress this as far as I can by assembling some further anecdotes or recollections that fans or associates might be able to contribute. Jeremy Smith has contributed a piece to Gonzo Weekly, the issue with the Ant Bee cover, page 28. Jeremy has also contributed a Doctors testimonial for the site, for which thanks.

I'm sure our thoughts are with Colin's family and friends at this time. Farewell Colin Stoner.
